Resident Identification
Your staff may be able to identify residents who could benefit from the Bio-Back based on their personal knowledge of your residents. However there are MDS indications that may also be able to identify these residents. Proper MDS documentation can also have a positive affect on the RUGs score potentially increasing per diem reimbursements.
Consider these areas of the RUGs Classification System:
-
Section G addresses patient balance while standing and sitting.
The Bio-Back can assist by providing back and abdominal support while correcting posturethus reducing slumping. -
Section J addresses a patient's unsteady gait.
The Bio-Back can assist by improving posture and providing support to the abdomen and back. -
Section J also asks about frequency and intensity of pain and allows the back to be identified as the pain site.
The Bio-Back's patented features relieve back pain while allowing the resident near total mobility to do their daily activities. -
Section P identifies nursing rehab programs being provided and indicate if splint or brace assistance is provided.
If a brace or splint is provided to a resident as part of their plan of carea possible 18 RUG categories may be triggeredwhich may increase the facilities per diem revenue for some patients
